KITCHENER, ON — June 25, 2026 – municiPal AI has partnered with the City of Kitchener to connect nine municipal websites through a context-aware search layer that delivers unified answers across the City’s digital ecosystem.
The initiative supports the City’s Digital Kitchener 2.0 strategy, which focuses on improving access to information and making online services faster, simpler, and more reliable for residents.
Like many municipalities, the City of Kitchener’s digital presence spans multiple websites and microsites that support services, programs, and departments. While search could surface content across these properties, information remained fragmented. Residents were still required to move between websites and piece together information themselves, with no simple way to connect related content into a complete answer.
To address this, municiPal AI created a context-aware search layer that connects nine City websites into a single search experience. When a resident submits a search, the system queries across all connected properties and returns a consolidated response based on user intent, drawing from official City content.
This removes the need for residents to understand how information is structured across the City’s websites or determine where specific content may live. Instead, users can enter a single query and receive a unified answer that brings together relevant information from across the City’s digital ecosystem.
The system is designed to scale as the City’s digital presence evolves. New websites, services, and content can be added to the same connected search layer, strengthening the system over time and reducing the creation of additional silos.
